Thank you once again for all you people who stopped by at our booth. Guitar enthusiasm – what a wonderful thing it is!! Here you are, a small series of pics from the show! This was our second NAMM Show. My second trip to USA ever, and again I could celebrate my birthday under California sun instead of amongst snowstorms and freezing wind of Finland.

Years go by flying… This was our 6th time at Frankfurt Musikmesse, and it feels almost like yesterday when we drove there the very first time together with Markku Henneken with his small Toyota stacked up with gear… Lots of memories – a german luthier Magnus Krempel was kind enough to accommodate us, poor young luthiers, for the messe week, and every day we drove from Magnus’ small village to Frankfurt together with this totally crazy bassplayer Markus Setzer… What a time.

This was our first NAMM Show. The trip was great fun, especially for me – this was my first time in the USA ever.. We celebrated my 33-year birthday in Hollywood at Musso and Frank’s restaurant, a very good dinner, nice company, beautiful atmosphere… Here you are – I’ve collected some photos from the show.

Last friday November 21st was a very special day for Ruokangas Guitars. Mick Box invited us all to see the Uriah Heep and Deep Purple concert in Helsinki Icehall. What a cool day – the Finnish prime time news (Kymmenen Uutiset) even made a story about us and Mick! We had great fun – thank you Mick for arranging this unique happening for us!

The third year in Frankfurt was a very good one for us. I want to thank once again Anssi Nuutinen, Ossi Alisaari and Jyrki Kananen from Ikaalinen College of Arts and Design, Lutherie department (Finland) for their invaluable help as our Road Crew! Jyrki Kananen earns extra thanks for doing such excellent job as our demo player at the show!

Timo Halonen got this idea of putting a ‘Ruokangas Guitars Night’ together. And as Timo gets a good idea, he usually acts also! A great band, legendary Finnish guitarists, Groove Café stacked full of people… just fantastic! Awesome – Jukka Tolonen, Juha Björninen, Jarmo Nikku, Hasse Walli, Marko Karhu, Frank Robson…!

Frankfurt calls again! Already a tradition, Ruokangas Guitars and Henneken Archtops shared a booth at the biggest musical instrument trade show in Europe. We had great time and met a lot of new and old friends – and got some serious attention too. A number of guitar magazines – Guitarist and The Guitar Magazine (UK), Gitarre und Bass (Germany) and Fuzz (Sweden) test reviewed our guitars in the following months of the Messe appearance.

This was the first time Ruokangas Guitars attended Frankfurt Musikmesse. We were there together with another Finnish guitarmaker, Markku Henneken. The journey from Finland to Germany was a hilarious one – all the guitars, other equipment and ourselves stuffed into Markkus’ Toyota Carina II! The show was great fun, we got to know lots of nice people and learned a whole lot of useful things about trade fairs in general.
