Rosewood

“I remember making my first guitar, I bought a piece of rosewood for the fretboard. The whole “aura” of that little slab of wood was breathing warmth and smooth feel. It’s interesting, cause that first impression of mine defines pretty well how rosewood affects to the the tone, too.”

rosewoodThere are hundreds of rosewood species in the world, East Indian Rosewood being the most popular one for fretboard use today. Rosewood sounds warm and well balanced, adding a smooth touch to the sound of an electric guitar. It’s a durable wood, that resists wear in a fretted instrument for decades. East Indian Rosewood fretboard is one of the standard features in our guitars.

Brazilian Rosewood used to be the most common type of rosewood used, but it has become one of the endangered wood species, that is not recommended to be used anymore. We have a small stock of Brazilian Rosewood cut down in the 80′s, saved for “special occasions”. Please ask for availability.
